I am here for the money - period. This industry has alway been stressful and some are not cut out for it. COP selling out to another company just means bigger layoffs after this, so what's the point. I lived in the cut 10% every year environment and survived very well without kissing a$$. Do your job, do something other can't, and at night enjoy life with your family. COP is a company and they will do what they think is right, not what you think is right. When you finally become an SG21, then you can make the changes you want, or you can find something else you like to do.

Why would anyone quit right before layoffs at least leave with some $$$$ Real employees understand how crappy it is here now its the trolls that don't get it!
Why would anyone resign just a few short weeks before the next round of layoffs? How about you go drown in the Koolaid you've been guzzling? You go right ahead and see where your loyalty to COP gets you. No one in leadership cares about anyone but themselves. They won't be losing any sleep over the hundreds more they send to the unemployment ranks in this newest round.
If you are tired of living this life, there are many other companies that are hiring ... Venture forth and discover a new climate. I for I love the high stress environment as it leads to massive change. Promotion by attrition is always an option
If you're that tired, you can leave any time you want to. That's of course assuming you have the balls to leave on your own. If you don't have a pair to do something on your own, then quit whining like you work in the Eagle Ford group and zip your lip.

The layoffs are getting annoying... now not only do you need to do your job but also hope your name doesn't pop in a number generator in corporate!
