Worldwide layoff schedule?

Hi, does anyone know the timeline for notifications outside the US last week?

I'm in UK for example & know I'm on the list ... but I don't "officially" know I'm on the list

that is great info thank you! I have heard the UK ones are a month away from notification as of Friday last week. As for negotiation, always a good idea what have you to lose! The clause on re-hire is a good one thank you. I have used a firm in the past on negotiation but it never came to it in the end. I will dig out the info, some big firm in London. For the opening offer package I only have hearsay based on the US so far so I am in the dark for the UK

My guess is your last day will be no later than the 1st of November (based on the 2 I went threw). So 30 days notice and assume last week of September/1st week of October.

In the UK they need to give you your notice period that your role is being cut, and then give you this time to find a another role. Although the way around this is to offer you a Mutual Settlement Agreement, which means you have no come back if they re-hire your role the following week. This will be above statutory redundancy pay to tempt you to sign. The trick is to request more settlement then the first offer and that terms are put in the settlement that they cannot re-hire your role within 6 months. This then gives you a clause to take them to a tribunal if they put someone on your accounts for instance and if they refuse to and it gets messy, you can use this as evidence that they are not making the role redundant, but instead the individual, which is an important distinction.

It may also pay to get an employment lawyer to actually negotiate your settlement anyway, as they will always get more then a lay person would.
