Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

No EISP for CSSC or FSC?

Thought the company would have offered it company wide to try and get the ones prior to 2003 off the books. Surprised they didn't include these departments since it's easy for them to shift the calls overseas.

CSSC consultants were not on the Potomac list. You can see it all here: http://www.cwa2201.org/?zone=/unionactive/view_article.cfm&HomeID=616251

there are consultants from Financial Services and from Service Fulfillment (SFC). SFC is offering to all titles as best as i can tell.

@4jca

Yes, eisp has been offered to some consultants (along with some techs and many other titles) in Potomac. Your local union officers can forward you the spreadsheet with locations, titles, and numbers declared surplus.

A am hearing that some Potomac Consultants (CSSC) have gotten the EISP offer. I was wondering if there was any truth to that and what are the numbers.

Most of us here want an exit from the FSC and CSSC. It would be a good idea to offer any employee with a pension an EISP. In addition, there is a very high rate of illness for any customer-facing employees after a certain number of years-Verizon would be saving on the costs associated with this by hiring new employees who have not yet amassed the amount of disappointment from being a culture which treats one like criminals, with one where there is a high amount of bullying, ostracism, and overall unhappiness, in addition to dealing with extremely frustrated, sometimes brain-damaged, mentally ill, or drugged customers, and the expectation that our careers will only worsen. Offer, not to weaken the union, but to save on costs.

If VZ wants to weaken the Union a good start would be to offer 5 years pay to members with 28+ years and/or 58+ years in age. Most of us will tough it out to get to Social Security. The company will spend the same amount for this target group ( barring death, etc. ) over the next 5 years. Pay now and have +8000 employees off the books by years end or wait the next 5 years.

If Verizon wants to weaken the union they should offer the buyout to CSSC and FSC nation wide I know people would jump ship

Lowell only cares about his $18,500,000 annual compensation and how much more than that he can steal next year.

If Lowell or any of his staff read this - make an offer to all employees. You can thin the ranks... hire lower wage staff with only 2 weeks vacation and keep bragging about what a great employer you are and not have to lay off younger staff with families. You can still brag about your Working Women's magazine awards and what a great employer you are and how much you care about your staffs families.

I totally agree. The company agreed to hire new employees, but nothing stops them from offering EISP to CSSC or FSC to get pre 2003 staff off the books. At my rate I figure what new people make at starting rate, plus I have 5 weeks Vacation and they will get two weeks, and my contributions to my 401 at the 6% 100% match that they can replace me with 2 1/2 new employees for what they pay me. I am spent and burned out and I am ready to go. McAdams if you or your staff read this, offer the EISP to CSSC and FSC.
