Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon will be going the way of the former AT&T - Out of Business

At the rate that Barney Rubble and his Handler LowMac are going, they will have driven the company out of business just like the old AT&T, leaving not much more than a name to sell.

Think about this: How much in the way of positive cash flows has any of the deals that LowMac and Barney been involved in generated as compared to Wireline, Wireless or FiOS?

Answer: Not much.

While these two idiots have sold off all of the cash flow positive properties to invest in trash like AOL and Go90 - not one deal has panned out well for Verizon. Every single supposed "leader"(sic) has underperformed as compared to all of their predecessors.

Now that Wireless is at the steady-state, these idiots have painted the company into a corner.

MCI was a loser, Hughes Telematics was a loser, all of their cloud investments were losers.

Everything this pair has done has turned out wrong including Six Sigma. No surprised though. Wireless employees were always considered the weakest link, apart from their engineers, and now they are running the show. Those with no longevity there don't realize though that all of them were considered the 'third and fourth string' players.

What a waste of a once great company. Soon it will only have a name left to sell.

I thought Telematics in Atlanta got annihilated in last November's RIF? Something like 40% of legacy Hughes was cut?

Lets not forget about Marni and her mysterious telematics division - which by the way: why is telematics an entirely separate division of wireless? What the heck are they doing besides BUM and Blo90? And who wants that piece of crap anyways?

Seems like everyone is jumping ship from wireless to telematics, but is it really safe over there? Seems like they are trying to make a startup culture including the unicorn like obscurity of product and revenue.

A-- Monkey made the mistake of posting his A---Pinions on LinkedIn ONCE...got hammered, and then slinked back into million-aire oblivion once again. What a Corporal of Industry Slow-ell really is.

Well if their 5g plans( 5g faux fio expansion) don't work out for them this place is going to go downhill pretty fast ,the company is worth about 226 billion and they have close to about 180 billion in debt, not much wiggle room for such a large company a couple of more bad investment's and there will be a fire sale, lol but they have nothing to sell, they sold every tangible asset already, and every employee will run for the hills..then they will get their wish and have no employees,,,sad sad sad was once a great company

This is why Trump will win in November and globalist supporting businesses like Verizon will likely get a wake up call. The video is a little crude and filled with some interesting invectives, but the passion is as real as his words which resonate all across the country.

@J5ft2h2-1vfl that is exactly the plan. SBC/BLS bought out their momma AT&T. And Google, Amazon or Facebook will likely end up with Verizon.

Looks like the book "Broadbandits" needs a new chapter. Or perhaps a musical "How Not To Succeed in Business"

I totally agree with the OP, but I don't think Verizon will go out of business, but instead be bought out by someone down the road. And maybe that is the strategy of the current leadership. Because they certainly do not seem interested in Verizon being successful on its own.

Instead, they have sold off all assets, have accumulated a mountain of debt and Verizon is now leveraged so heavily with debt and dividend payments, that if subscriber revenue starts to go backwards even slightly, the whole thing will unravel.

iox if dividend goes the market will react accordingly and well, as I said before, executives will just laugh and leave. As an employee its a shame what they have done!

That is why I have sold all of my stock. I think that the dividend is in peril with this bunch that is currently running the show. Wireless is now a commoditized business, and as the recent independent tech news has shown, Verizon is no longer "better". That is because the idiots in the c-suite have not been reinvesting in the core businesses but revinvesting profits into pipe dreams and managing the company with management best sellers from a decade ago.

Dial tone and Internet connectivity are not s--y enough businesses for this over-paid-under-performing lot. The only thing that has kept them in power is that the company still pays a hefty dividend relative to other companies, but this lot is putting that into peril with their track record of bad investments and inability to compete. "4th string" is about right!

Sold off almost EVERYTHING real and tangible from profitable footprint, real estate, dex, towers....all gone! Only thing left is employees and and they want them gone too! Buyouts, rifs and realignment are the norm. Telecom was always slow growth and nice dividend...everything you want in your portfolio and in your employer. Gone are the good people who knew this and played to that strength. Now the clowns(wireless unsustainable growth Google wannabes) run this rodeo and it shows! Company runs around chasing trends(cloud, IoT, fleet, iptv) and doesn't have a clue about these businesses. They think because "better matters" people will just flock to these services because we are VZ and we said its good. Wrong! It angers me to know they just throw darts in the dark and when it's all over the executives just turn the lights on, laugh and leave.

The company completely lost it's identity when MacShit and his cronies took over. If these ancient egotistical ba$tards don't soon swallow their pride and start listening to what the consumer wants, the Titanic will sink once again.

The only reason wireless was so successful in the past has to do with the fact that it sold itself. Now that competition is strong, they are showing that they do not know what they are doing. They laughed at us and pointed fingers on what we knew was the backbone of the business.
