Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

A few years ago you could always send a note to senior management and often they'd respond. I had in my archive responses from CRB, PSO, and BK.. boy they missed the boat on technology, or we'd be doing ARM and at nearly 75Billion but that is a story for another post.

Why don't you send a note to BK and tell him about the meeting, the number of blokes traveling and if it was worth it and CC the GM of the division hosting it, after all isn't intel cultural still constructive confrontation?

@1nen. BK may be a skinflint but he does not have a grip on what's going on internally. Groups like MIT are constantly traveling by large numbers every few weeks. Face to face meetings for critical issues once in awhile is acceptable but not to the degree of every few weeks. And it's not one or two MIT engineers/managers travelling to US, it's many MIT staff every few weeks. And these travelling aren't cheap. The money can be spent more wisely! BK needs to get a grip on things happening under his watch especially on the $ wastage instead of laying off good folks and then allowing others to throw $ freely!

Shut your pie hole. BK has been a skinflint for travel in TMG. Everyone knows that a single face to face meeting with colleagues is worth 1000 phone/video meetings. Hey, maybe TMG should have some engineers travel...

We could get rid of half the "processes" people have concocted to make their own lives easier while providing zero value to the company and save another billion. We seriously hire lots of people just to manage "the processes", with no thought of streamlining and doing things cheaper and better from the start.

Classical situation, managers paid a lot, lots of perks, and do no real work. Technicians and engineers end doing all the $hit work and first to get laid off.

The funny thing is that all the managers fly around all they want to nonsense meetings, but engineers can't even travel to help customers onsite in critical cases. Of course managers get to decide where the budget goes.

6k at lower salaries. Saves and more layoffs to come.

BK never had an intention of saving 1.4 billion. Downsized 12k and has already hired 6k. That's not about savings.

You wonder if BK is aware?

BK is th most clueless executive in the semiconductor industry. Absolutely no concept of what is happening in the world, let alone within the rank and file at Intel.
