Thread regarding Sears layoffs

I'm going to ask for a raise.

Anybody think I'll get it? It's been a long time (8-9 years). At least, I could ask.

thank you. It's about what I thought. But, those days are over for all of us. Customer care has been replaced by SYWR. Any effort above and beyond is for eddie's benefit only. our efforts do not benefit us. And , now that Eddie is doing his patch here and there play we clearly know that it is all for him. I just have nothing left in me to keep it going.

When I started in 1978 my average raise was about 40 to 50 cents and before the merger it was around 25 to 35 cents. After the merger we never got a raise.

I started this post about a raise and thank you all for your input. I did ask and got no answer. Guess that is the answer. Before the merger in 2005 what was the average raise? yearly was it .25 or .50 ? then I could multiply by yrs of service to find where I should be. I started the year of the merger. So, it's chasing my tail to think of where I should be. I can sit on the porch all day and bark and yelp and the door is not going to open to throw me a treat unless it is to get me to that big truck that takes me away to the pound. I am already a lead. Just far less pay than the few remaining leads we have. And expected to do so much that I have lost hope. And, it's only Monday of another week of the same. Thanks to you again.

A raise? Did you not see what the "Big Wigs" at Hoffman are making in an earlier post? They can't give you a raise. They would not be able to survive if they did.

The only way you can get a raise is to take a higher paying position, like a lead. And then a few weeks later they will eliminate the lead position. That's the way it works

My job was eliminated due to "Company Down Sizing". I was a QMT. There is no layoffs with Sears Holdings. You either get fired or your job is eliminated.

12 cents an hour increase and your hours will get cut in half. :P

Did they fire you or got laid off? Asking for a raise is no reason to be fired?
