Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Retired .

I retired last January . Just after I retired the 403 development shop was hit . Those without NC experience where laid off . Those with NC experience where moved into the 103 bldg. The EDM operations is critical so it was left alone as far as I know only one maintenance person was left out of 4 people . One moved out of state and two , including me retired . I was replaced by a sub contractor, the other guy was a Mechanical technical type and wasn't replaced . The Metrology group was sold . Not sure if those in metrology will be there with the new owner . This is after 2/3 of the place was moved out of the country , part to Chihuahua Mexico and part to north east part of the Czech Republic , a small town just outside of Olomouc . I was one of four maintenance technical types assisting in the transition .

I'm not seeing that. Retirement age employees are being carried out feet first or just retiring without (26 week) severance package. They are not accepting retirement age RIF volunteers if you come to work everyday and work hard. I think leadership will layoff all the younger workers and work the older workers until they die on the job.

It's done for now, they approached everyone 2 Fridays ago and said they were closing the dev shop down. I heard they were told they had to apply for a position in the 103

You're one of the lucky ones! dave and Honeywell are working hard to eliminate employees BEFORE they can retire. This way they get the best and most productive years from them, and they get out of having to pay them any benefits as they age. Once you hit age 45 in honeywell, it's time to start looking for another job before they have a chance to RIF you.
