I'm retired but a few years ago, I was an Electrical Engineer working at a pollution control company focused on the energy business. I was there over 18 years and the company, while not perfect, had been making money for over 20 years. Honeywell bought it and obviously had no clue what they had bought and no business being in that industry. They have since essentially destroyed the company and have initiated massive layoffs, with more to come. I'm very grateful to have been able to retire before they finish mismanaging the company into oblivion.

So they've laid off at our plant steadily for the past year and a half. 5 at a time. Yet we are now hiring 14 temps. And we are also on a furlough to end of the year. $20 says there's another layoff by yrs end.
Well "sh-- happens" and "Get over it". Why are you commenting on this website? You must be happy about your work status...why post to put another persons feelings down? You know nothing of the person or how badly they might need this job. If that is the way you feel I suggest you just shut your pie hole and allow others to vent.
It's easy for some F--- tard to say get over it. But when you give most of your working years to a company and then are involved in a RIF, it's hard to get over. Especially when you see older, but not ready for retirement, workers let go and others with little time stay.
WOW really... get over it..... I've worked for Honeywell for 32 years. Im 50 years old and there are very few places to work in my small town.
It's sad but s*** happens. At least some of you have enjoyed steady employment for over twenty years! Get over it and get on with life. Some things are more important than work.
