Too much sugar in store

If we claim to be a health food store than why do a lot of our products have a lot of sugar in them? Maybe our store should be renamed- Whole Diabetes Market.

Wholebodys' version of Emergen-C has sugar and frutrose listed in the ingredients. And yet "claims" to only have 5 grams of sugar. Dairy dept,.-365 low fat vanilla yogurt has 29 grams of sugar per cup. Sugar coma for sure.

I remember getting trained in my hiring orientation about how to deal with customers who complained about some of the products we sold. This was long ago when we did a lot more training than we do nowadays. We were told to tell customers that we were a "grocery store", not a "health food store", which is why we sell so many things that a few people find objectionable, but the masses do not.

Then there are the "weasel words" for MSG...like "autolyzed yeast extract" and "natural flavours." Everyone knows these are high-glutamate substances, artificially produced. And they're everywhere. BTW, look at the large size aloe juice in WB...and you WILL see sodium benzoate, an artificial preservative.

I remember the good old days when you didn't even have to read ingredient labels at Whole Foods. You could simply trust that if it was on their shelves, it was pure and free of refined sugar, etc. That began to change, right around the year 2000 or so. As a brand, they've really lost themselves (not to mention lots of once loyal customers!).
