Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Got my bonus! It's 1/30th of what I usually get! YAY!!

Seriously... The amount is so small it's like a slap in the face. I'm wondering if my boss was trying to send a message. I can't even make half of my car payment with it. I'd rather of received nothing.

If you're lucky like I was when they have the next official wage freeze you can get a promotion. "Due to the wage freeze you won't get any more money and now you rank lower relative to your peers. Congratulations!"

We all have to realize the age we are in. The Baby Boomers traditionally stayed with 1 or 2 companies for 40-50 years. Today, the norm is just under 7, per a recent article in Forbes. Cisco is out for Cisco. Chucky is out for Chucky. It's like the unannouced furlough to red badges last year for the month of April. It wasn't done to the employee's benefit. It was to pump up 3Q numbers.

Anyone who believes in company loyalty is a moron regardless if you are a top performer or lemming.

Yes, we all got screwed except for Cisco.

The HR people not only monitor but actively participate in the slashing of bonuses for laid off employees.

similar story here.

they slashed my ipf from >1.5 last year, to a little over 0.5 this year, so the year end payment for me was a little over $300. thank you Cisco. that's really nice of you after me wasting 5 years for you. really, really classy. Isn't this something what HR folks should monitor? Ultimately, this is bonus for the previous year. I earned it, and you just stole it from me.
