I guess the BSEE and MSEE was a waste of time. Now it's time to put a gun to my head. Oh, well, no one will give a flying f--- anyway.

Go to QCT quality, here are the requirements: low technical knowledge, experts in kissing axs, able to do paperwork, poor time management skills, no leadership, unable to drive the team etc.
QUALCOMM is nothing, your life is way more value than a F company like that, you deserve something better than that sweaty shop, try Medical and Bay Area, there are many Ex-QC doing better there....
FXCK QCT HR by the way
OP, don't make any decisions until you talk to someone. Call the suicide hotline mentioned below. They want to speak with you and can help.
F the Q don't let em get you down. Keep your head up and carry on. Keep trying, pray about it, something will come up!
do NOT kill yourself. There is a LOT to live for.
Hard to believe anything on this site, including this suicide threat.
Bay Area FTW. F* san diego and Seattle.
We have traffic, high rents, but employers here just have more class.
Don't give up OP. Create a new reality for yourself and don't dwell on the past, or even worry about making the same money. Get some new skills. You are valuable, not just because of work. Try some vigorous exercise and re-define your future. Anyone that can do a BSEE and MSEE has a great deal of drive. See a doctor and try some meds. But don't give up. I wish I could talk to you. Don't let this funk get.you down.
I don't have a family. I'm in my 40s. I have designs in products that have magazine covers. But, I guess there was always something wrong with me. Today, I'm very depressed - but looking forward to peace.
Hey man, there's a lot of life besides work. Don't dispair, life's good and you're going to be fine. Stay positive, enjoy what you have, it's a lot. And you're not alone, don't forget that.
have you tried PM [program management roles]
Those roles value your degrees a lot these days --if you can not find engineer roles.
or
have you tried volunteering for a start up company?
this will help you get the needed technical skills and more importantly connections.
If the company goes green, then they will hire you for salary.
Have you done any research on EdX and other free courses providing sites?
they will teach you a lot?
have you stopped by any local universities? and exchange good technical dialogue with senior counsellors? they might give you concrete recommendations?
Are you over 40 or 45? and feel like you are being the victim of ageism?
If so, you can trim down your resume and remove age indicators..
Seek professional resume review help
also more importantly, remember to not to measure the value of your life with a job o career or title in the job position.
move back with family/parents if that's an option.
surround yourself with positive friends..
I can go on and on..
all the best..
Have you considered joining a programming Bootcamp, such as App Academy? The tuition is fee, and they guarantee job placement.
OP, sorry to hear your problems; many Americans have been replaced by Indians h-1bs; in addition San Diego is a challenging area to get a job ; have you considered relocation to bay area to get a new job?
Remember, it's always darkest before the dawn. Things will get better for you, you'll see.
Please reach out and get help. There are a lot of in the same boat after the Qualcomm RIF.
