I was given a bottom ranking one year, when the previous year (in the exact same role - no requirements had changed), was ranked the highest employee on the team - received an additional bonus even for being the highest. We had no new-hires onto our team, so literally, there were no changes to the team between the yr I rec'd the top rank vs. the following yr, when I received the bottom rank. The following yr when I got my bottom ranking, no performance issues had ever been discussed or documented/emailed in my mid-year. Nada. Nothing. No emails/documentation throughout the entire year even before or after my mid-year, stating my work was anything less than what was needed for my role. And then I'm told in my end of year eval that I'm lowest ranked. I have no idea where it came from. But it gets worse - I was never put on a pip after receiving the low ranking and bad review, to help identify what exactly I needed to improve.

I am one of the people affected. I also got a very low bonus. Never got one this low before, not even close. Your manager is probably never going to see you again so why shouldn't he stiff you on your bonus and give it to the people who are left behind? Like somebody else said, move on and find a better job somewhere else.

They told us for the purpose of determining bonuses and merit increases, that we would still be 'unofficially' ranked (i.e. they still stack ranked everybody in the group but they just didn't tell the employees how they stood).

Simply put you can't. To be technical that distinction wasn't made. You were impacted. They provide no reason for why you were impacted beyond that there was a business decision made.

As far as fighting your .5 IPF, not a lot you can do about it especially if you signed your separation agreement. IPF is always at discretion. Bonus is never guaranteed. If you signed separation agreement you also signed away a lot of rights to sue them.

My advice, just move on. Find a better job at a better company.

WHy does it matter? Unless they are going to tell a reference, which would be lawsuit fodder.

What's the bottom 5? Suggests stack ranking, which I thought was replaced by the People Deal?
