I'm not in management. I do scour the business news and read another message board. I do remember reading in the spring that someone from Hoffman Estates who had been laid off posted that he had seen bankruptcy lawyers coming to the headquarter office for closed door meetings. This is what I read and not first hand knowledge. Although I believe it is safe to say that SHLD is indeed heading for bankruptcy in the near future. That doesn't mean all stores will close right away but the financial outlook is not good. Do not hold your breath waiting for any executive to come on the board and spill secrets that could cost him his golden parachute when this thing tumbles. They will continue to string the employees along until the last minute using and abusing them through the holidays.

They aren't likely to admit it even if they know. Corporations will pretend its business as usual right up until the last possible moment. There won't be much advance warning.
