Heard from what I believe is a reliable source that only Directors and above will be getting RSU grants this year.

I can confirm that is true, based on a very reliable source.
No RSUs for the peons in FY17.

Absolutely untrue. Many GL12s do not recieve any RSUs. There is no guarantee of RSUs to GL12s. I personally have given no RSUs to GL12s in the past.
Commenting on others Not sure about GL4s but definitely GL6s and above are eligible, However, it is very unusual for GL6-8 to get any and GL10s and 11s are also pretty rare.

Grade 6 are eligible for RSU? They are eligible to win the Powerball as well :)
It may be false- as I stated it is only a rumor and the rumor is about next year - not the present year.
It would be interesting however to see what percentage of Cisco's total compensation package - options, RSU, salary, bonus etc, went to IC and front line managers vs. director and above in 1995, 2005, and today.
I agree with OPr. Being eligible and actually receiving are two different things. I have heard the same thing. RSUs will not be trickling down to regular folks any time soon.
It is the next step in this ever worsening "us and them" culture bubbling up at Cisco. Sad.

It all depends upon manager.
normally Best performer or long pending promotable guys or highly depedanble guys get it.
RSU already given 2 months back.
