Local Kmart is a disaster

My local Kmart is not on the closure list but something is going on there. I went to my local Kmart store with my mom and daughter and we could not believe the mess. The store was stuffed with merchandise, especially clothes. We walked the whole store and only came across 3 cashiers, 1 customer service employee and 3 people working the entire floor.

The fine jewelry was the biggest disgrace. There was a significant amount of stock that was oxidized with black spots on the pendants and tarnished chains that just looked very dirty and old. The vinyl leather ring displays were torn and worn as if the heat from the display lights damaged the vinyl causing if to rip and disintegrate. Inside the fine jewelry display windows employees had literally dumped the merchandise inside almost as if they were in a frenzy to get the merchandise out and didn't have room for it. That was the most disgusting department.

The cosmetic department was in total disarray. Merchandise was tossed about all over the aisles. Employees can not keep up with straightening the mess and have probably just given up. Clothing and shoes were found on floors and in one section there were clear storage bins with random items thrown in it and stuck on the shelf. Again, it was as if the few employees that were working were just trying to get the stuff out on the floor any way they could

My Kmart is an old store and I am probably one of the few people who don't mind shopping in an old Kmart. It is nostalgic and I enjoy visiting my local Kmart now and then. It brings back memories of when I shopped there as a kid walking the very same floor over 30 years ago with my grandparents who are now long passed. But in the past couple of weeks the store is not just old, it is a complete mess. It was sad to see.

The few employees were probably taking their training on WOWing members in the back room.

Or deciding when their store closed if it would be in their best interest to be an Uber driver and get those SYW Points promised that probably won't show up without several calls to SYW.

I actually remember when K-Mart was a clean store. That was a long time ago.

Now it is filthy. Fully of unloaded pallets on the sales floor.

I wonder if they are running their pharmacies under PDMA standards.

If any PIC's are reading this chime in and tell us if you are feeling the pressure.

Our Sears store is the same. We sweat everday trying to keep up with work that needs to be done, but in reality it still looks horrible. And we had 100 hrs cut next week! It's impossible.
