May God bless and protect you all. ( Mark 4 verses. 37-39). Take care of yourselves. No job is worth risking your life over. You can always find a new job (and a much better company that actually cares about its employees) if need be.
SoFlo store TM here we got told very early today store would be closed Thursday and tentatively opening late Friday morning if possible.
I almost got put on a final for not showing up the day after a hurricane blew through in Florida. This was in the pre-smartphone days and no one had phone service. Since I lived in a flood prone area I stayed with my parents and my dad refused to let me go to work! Power lines and trees were blocking roads, how could I commute 10 miles? Things never change with this company.
I came to see if anyone was talking about this. Our store (looking like a direct hit) only just announced it is closed tomorrow. Overnight team is expected to be here tonight. We will be receiving feeder bands in 4 hours from now. Team member welfare is the last thing on anyone's mind. I have loved this company for a long time. This is the final straw for me.
God bless
Yes, I do hope the hurricane will just blow out to sea. However, if not, I suggest team members look out for themselves; don't expect store leadership to consider your best interests. Oh and don't worry about the VPs, they'll be miles away from the storm, as usual.
