Funny Things going on Inside Cisco M&A Team

Hilton's Cisco M&A team as we know is very active in sourcing deals and in charge of closing deals....Someone commented earlier in another post that they sometimes block company presentation, even from a possible list of targets if the team senses that may not get any benefit out of the deal...Some times they prop up deal where they have some incentives....Most people on the team have been for a long time there...It is a rumor in valley that if they don't get some chips in the backhand, they won't pass the deal...very sad for Cisco from product market fit and key technology point of view....It shows signs of bad things to come for Cisco soon.

This makes sense to those who make business deals. You scratch my back and I scratch yours. The Eco-system that was said by John Chambers. This is all about "business", right? The semi-annual LR ritual is also part of the "business".

Yes I have heard similar...They have some chip system..it is usually to push certain deals with more preference....pay to play....goes on at director level...that is the talk...not sure if VPs in M&A group know this.

People say it all starts with deal sourcing stage itself...So if you want your company to be taken over by Cisco, you need to have more than just a good technology....you should know how it is played inside the team...it helps the deal that much.

Yeah...i have heard also similar talk of payments being made through chips....else you can kiss your deal goodbye...dream of being acquired by cisco is big for many start ups...specially when cisco pays 10x more than others...so why not pay some chunks to the idiots doing M&A who can help approve your deal....
