I am a union member. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I also have an MBA. I like drinking beer. Sometime, you just never know who that person is standing next to you.

This entire board was lit up during the strike telling the Union folks to s--- it up, and move on. They didn't, they stuck together, organized, and defeated their company's leadership that was giving themselves raises, and bonuses as they cleaned house very unfairly.

This isn't a union/non union issue. The recent cuts are in retail, due to a shifting retail strategy. Union employees post 2003 have no layoff protection.

There is a reason there is union presence there. It is needed and if you were educated you would know to join the union cause without it..... well you see whats going on

For the person who wrote Pre-2003ers, believe me should the company offer the EISP they will take it. The problem is the company is not offering it to all departments. The need to offer to CSSC and FSC but have not. Hopefully after all the new people that were hired are fully trained and let loose on the floor the EISP will be offered. To the original poster, if anything you come across as the uneducated one. Most union people I know are educated and very good people. For this company the Union is needed.

This board was filled with people saying get rid of the Union. They shot back "you'll be gone before we are" They were right!
Pre-2003ers get the No Layoff clause. To any Post 2003ers, take the EISP. It's a lot better than a severance.
