Thread regarding Sears layoffs

How much Would Shop Your Way (SYWR) fetch if SHC sold it?

Here is what I am wondering. If SHC can turn SYWR into a program like the Amex Plenti points where you can redeem points at places other than Kmart/SHOS/Sears FLS.

How much would it fetch dollar wise on the open market?

I would say maybe 10,000 points, but that is if you buy it before the points expire. LOL.

I think your right about the SYWR program. It is really a toss up on how much it will sell for. The actual website/coding/"Real" active member database might fetch maybe up to one million dollars?

If you have the right company to refine the process and the point system. SYWR is a good concept but poorly executed.

If SHC sold SYWR to the right company it would actually might be a good competitor to plenti points.

Personally it is a good concept, but poor execution.

its worth nothing. Most SYW accounts are a fraud. At our store we would go through the phone book and sign people up with false e-mail accounts to meet the metric. Other stores I know did the same thing or similar to meet quota. Most SYw account belong to no one

You can use you debit card, just make sure you don't let the cashier press the credit option as you need to enter your pin with employee discount. Otherwise, figure out the total and purchase a gift card for that total with your credit card or whatever form of payment you want to use. Who wants a subprime credit card on their credit report.

@dth, Thankyou. That sums it up for everyone. Take advantage of every markdown, bonus points, ect. To get your money's worth out of SHC corpse.

I cancelled all SYWR 2 yrs ago because I don't do mindless hoops and trick things. Store manager was unhappy about it. But he is long gone to another company now. And we are in death throes...the very last gasps.

Actually, if you had some money going in working for Sears and needed to spend some money on some things you need, you can really fuel the profit burning furnace that is SYW. I have only been with SEARED for a few months and figured out quickly how to game the system in my favor.

I had big ticket purchases that needed to be made in a series of purchases in order to capture every surprise point possible as well as the bonus points. It took me a while to see exactly what meat was left on the bone that Eddie hadn't got yet and I found some really good deals. Not only that, I used my associate discount to further the profit margin damage because you can use you can use your points and discounts at the same time. You have to be smart though because sometimes a barcode is a way better deal then using your discount.

Was I d--k back to Eddie? Damn right I was/am and I helped/help every Sears associate I can because I know what you are going through. I am a MOD sometimes and I have override abilities but I can't write my own ticket. I have never stolen anything and I have never broken a corporate policy but I have taken everything I could get and you have to if you work for Sears.

I am now a SYW VIP Silver member. Yay. Now I get even more point to get free sh--. The funny thing is that I can't use a third party credit card or debit if I use my discount. They keep telling me that I need a Sears credit card but I don't need one because my wife already has one.

I will not be staying with Sears for very long unless this ten grand a year pay raise comes through at the end of the month. That will have to be a new pay contract. I will probably decline that anyway. I have already threatened to walk once and I meant it and I already had the f---ers hung up in a contract that I paid for. I requested execution of the contract and I had every legal right to do so because SEARED accepted payment because now it is a legally binding contract.

I have the local SEARED on the hook for so many warranties that you have to wonder how they might honor them all. That depends on service but technically those warranties are underwritten by someone other than SEARED which costs them even more money.

I feal bad for the young ones as well as the one's who are about to retire. The young one's have a chance to run. The ones who stuck around for all of those years and were promised a pension...that is not fair. I am raising two younger children and have a wife whom I am supporting. I have a Bachelor's degree and numerous licenses and I lost a good management job for a big corporation in 2008 just like so many other people. I used to believe that if I really worked hard that I would succeed. Well, so much for that. I am a corporate death vulture now because I have to be. I have lived mergers and acquisitions.

Unfortunately, it is a terrible thing to have to witness again. Sears is a very good metaphor for what the United States has become and what it will become.

@bhj, thanks. My only estimate within the 500mil-1bil, was for everything. At least it was better than the trillions 9055 claimed it would get.

I would guess 1mil to 10mil +/- depending on who wants the data, ect.

It is at the point to see what it fetches on the open market if SHC puts it for sale.

$1 million. So many duplicate, inactive or fraudulent accounts. Too reliant on email, which no one really uses anymore. A lot of shoppers say it is too convoluted and thus have a negative view of the program. $10 million tops in a best-case scenario.

Most likely, SYW is going into the crusher wiith the rest of the Sears Holdings "car".

KCD and maybe a handful of properties are the only "parts" left on this junker...once those are gone, it's off to the squisher, just like at a junkyard.

5 maybe 6 bucks. Program is stupid. They think they are going to eliminate print advertising with it.

Cough, cough, cough. Trillions for the personal data it mines, your nuts 9055.

Now between 500mil-1bil for everything including the personal data,software/coding/database is more reasonable.

What does everyone "except" 9055 thank?

Millions for the program, trillions for the shopping/personal data it mines.
