Out of the 24 people lay offs in the TN districts only 2 were men. What's up with the fair employment opportunities. Were is the news coverage and women's watch groups?

I feel for the employees who were let go. Dedication and commitment means nothing in the eyes of Verizon. Those who make the most are only concerned about the money, not about who built the company and made it what it is today. Don't blame the union, join a union. They will help in the fight to keep jobs and fight to get a fair wage and benefits to be able to provide for your family. Verizon does it's best to put fear in any office that considers becoming part of a union. They want to keep control, and unfortunately it cost thousands of jobs. I have seen good workers that were not union be walked out. If you had a union it wouldn't be so easy to get rid of 10,000 employees There would be protection in place for these kind of actions. Don't hate the union workers for standing up for their fair share of the pie ask yourself why have I accepted the crumbs of Lowell Mcadam and the top five executives making millions. Without a union you are an at will employee (at the company's will that is). Verizon profits 8 million quarterly there are no reason except corporate greed the more vendors they use for less the more $$$$ in the fat cats pockets. It has nothing to do with men, women, old or young the executives are driven by $$ not what is right for the company, employees or the customers it is Corporate GREED. Had to balance out the massive amount of white males let go in the past 2 years.

All ES gone from the TN/NE district had been on Med leave in the last 2 years, ask the Morristown, JC, Kingsport stores!
The 3 stores in Car/TN TN/NE that loss ES spots had almost all had taken Med leave in the last 3 years, Don't get hurt working Verizon! You will be gone! Just ask Larry Jimmy, Alexa, Eddie

I seen plenty of Women EWA (scabs) working feverishly to defeat the Union in their fight against corporate greed, and unfair layoffs.
The Union stuck together and Won. despite the efforts of those scabs Men and Women.

Yes If you think the company cares one bit about the employees you are mistaken. Last year's 8000 plus layoff targeted older employees .....my husband and I were both chopped. It's been a fabulous year without the stress of the toxic management that exists at VZW.

There were two of us as ES's in our store I (the male of the two) was let go
14 years here, and friends that had been here longer. It was shocking.
@OHD - Verizon has no intention of keeping retail stores. They want to push everything to national retail or online. The future will be very small and much fewer showroom stores meant to display product for customers to touch and feel before ordering online.
The writing is on the wall, retails days are numbered.

That's a first! The company generally goes out of their way to riff white men. Men are an endangered species at the company.
This makes no sense cutting these jobs. One of the biggest complaints now is customer wait times. Wake up, so some jobs that need to be cut is in training, area managers (that you might in the field in a store once every 3 months for about 20 minutes).
What about the directors? These people make about 5 times what a ES/OS makes, and does nothing to put money on the table for the company.
The company wasted all the money.on Go 90, AOL, ect and still.has a job with the company.
What also kills me all the butt kissing folks that post things on the main page like way to go, great stream lining process, preparing for the future. Unless you are a member of the good old boy/gal page the company could care less about you.
My store had 2 ES and one OS. The two women were offered the new role. The one male was given his papers.
Yeah it is crazy to say the least. People that I've known for years are gone just like that. All of them were women. 1 was expecting a newborn.
Verizon is cutthroat. After 7 years in this company I am disgusted.
