I am one of many who have a team that at least half of which are in India. I work from home routinely 10-12 hour days. I am sometimes on calls at 8pm; meetings at midnight, even occasional 2 am witking with my India contingents. I also start most mornings with 6 am meetings with people in US and Mexico. If I am sick, I still work. Not one single person I work with lives in the state I am in. Not one! Everyone- every single person- I work with is virtual and will continue to be virtual. Yet we now have to drive to a cubicle in a building we don't work at to be around other people we don't work with to not support the ones we do work with.
Now, I will be commuting 3 hours a day on a good day, adding approximately $700 a month to my gas bill; will not be able to take care of half my group in India.
Does this make sense to anyone? Because I seriously would like to know. This is only going to hurt Honeywell more. Again, I am one of thousands who support people overseas.
I predict the next RIF will have droves of volunteers!
