That's ML's "Qrappy" software alright!
Initiative that I believe started in Global Markets or GWIM to update the pricing/trading systems and get away from JAVA (too many issues with vulnerabilities). Been going on for years, I seem to recall hearing about it around the time of the Merrill transition and it has had its fair share of issues with everything from scope creep, funding and meeting deliverables, largely due to being a poorly managed effort.
