Did anyone get exempted from the new remote working policy?

I still won't call into meetings after hours. You know why? Because there's no benefit to me. No raises, no pay incentives; only more furloughs and RIFs. If it's not scheduled in my 8 hour shift, this company can piss off.

Managers are now being requested to provide more data regardng employees needs. The concern is before and after work meetings to support multiple time zones. They are still leaving the expectation that you have to come into "the office" for some part of the day no matter what unless you have preapproval. It sounds like maybe they heard the voice of the employee and realized employees were not going to login on VPN any more to call into "after or before hour" meetings since IT is monitoring VPN usage. Employees need to keep speaking up on everything not just the remote working issue. We need to band together. They want to make sure they cover all the exceptions in the policy so everyone needs to communicate the exceptions that they have.

My manager said that not even Cote can grant an exception, it is above his head. It has to go to a shareholder vote at the next shareholder meeting, where Wall Street decides.

In the FAQ hand out it stated if you have to drive several hours to a facility HR would consider the circumstances and if there isn't a facility in the vacuity of your home they would consider that.

The 50 mile thing is an HR number used in travel. For example you can't purchase a meal without 60 miles of office, and you can't take Miles for driving to zmither ZHom facility less than 59 mikes away.

My manager said that distance will not be considered but you never know, this may just fir a quite death and nothing changes .

My manager said today that if you live more than 50 miles away you can be exempted. Just FYI

Regardless of what is said in all the emails, any exception will have to be specifically approved by Cote himself.. now, how many exceptions do you think each president will want to take to Cote to approve, you got it.. very very few.

I would love to know if anyone gets an exception. The problem I have with this is that I started with HON a little over a year ago and working remote was a part of why I took the position. So to have this thrown on me this is not only ridiculous but it goes against what I thought I was getting- an innovative company that cares about employees and work/life balance. You can be for or against the WFH model but as someone who has done both I can tell you that WFH (if you have the time management skills and discipline) is better for overall work/balance. I don't need the pop in questions at my desk that turn into 20 minute conversations about nothing, those happen at least 2-3 times a day in the office. That is a waste of time. So commutes aside there is a lot of time wasted in the office. And the lines about collaboration in the office are lost on me. I work with about 4-5 people max in our office and that is once a week at best. I work daily with people in other states and countries. This is just a way for HON to also get more folks to leave since they did not get the mass amount of voluntary lay-offs that they wanted.

You don't see the Whole picture. This wasn't for those that spend an occasional Friday working from home although it does impact them. The action knocks many Hon employees that are simply too far from a Hon site to report to on a daily basis. They had an agreement through HR this was okay to do hen Cote gets his nickers in a wad and screams no more.

Now for the other comment. When I accepted my current position it was for an agreed to rate or income. They, Hon didn't live up to their end of deal. They should have said "work here and I'll give you a salary of 1 mil..... "then simply furlough me until they reach their objective.

Why anyone wants to bring work and stress home anyway. HNW likes us all spend more time w family and you complain? Not productive at work? 2 weeks furlough not working and now worry about working more for less? Sound crazy to me.

Not yet but I'm still working remote too. I'm leaving this up to my manager to get started.

I thought the manager had to fill out an "exemption form", probably doesn't exists yet.

He told me end of month

The emails that were sent out to my plant stated the policy is effective immediately. Necessary adjustments should be fully in place by October 31. Most managers are ignoring the "effective immediately" line. Will VPN's be revoked on Halloween?

In the infinite wisdom of the leadsforshit team, the policy won't be released to the worker bees until Halloween (October 31).

Because at Honeywell nothing drives productivity and short cycle growth like uncertainty. Also, coming to a site near you, the leadsforshit team will kick you in your teeth in lieu of a dental plan
