We have been waiting this news for almost a year, and now when the layoffs in Dell are officially confirmed, no one seems to be sure when the axe is coming down, or which sites will be hit. And numbers I hear vary from 2000 - 3000. Has anyone got more information? Or does at least know when we well have more info?

RI BCBSRI account has taken so many hits I lost count, I got laid off earlier this month before the NTT merger. I spent the beginning of this year training coworkers in India to do my job, so they not only send the jobs there, they make us train them. I am not angry at the people in India or anywhere else because you will catch the dirty, sneaky stuff Dell does too. No raises in years and after giving 27 years to the Blue Cross account I am relieved to be done with Dell
Next week is the last paycheck of the Dell third fiscal quarter. Managers at my Dell location have hinted quarter end and fiscal year end in January are windows for cuts. Remember it doesn't cost you anything to start a job search now - you might get lucky and score severance and a better job.
Got included in the layoff, and now seeing these comments I should not have been surprised.
Never been a good time to feel comfortable at Dell. Always layoff and hard to get any career advancement. Dell is a place people go to get their lives ruined.
I heard more than 3K however Dell has applied to over 5K in H1B's so we can expect more. Also the DSG grp is having its own field day
