When are you going to realize that the battle is management vs. the rest of us? Yes, there are some good people in management, but if it comes down to stabbing you in the back or them not getting a bonus or potentially losing their job, guess what? Not only will they stick the knife in, but they'll also give it a twist. The entire management team from top to bottom are merely puppets. Do yourselves a favor. Please look into organizing and help save your jobs before it's too late. Remember that no matter how much overtime you work or how many times you put Verizon before spending time with your friends and family, it doesn't matter. When the time comes, you're gone.

Well, if the union is so awesome, then why do they require so much supervision to ensure they aren't f---ing around. When I was EWA doing copper I&M, some of the "union" work I saw was so bad that even I could see that. Improperly anchored drops, ungrounded NIDs for instance. And these were locations where previous repairs had been attempted, so don't blame someone else for missing it.
The problem ultimately is that once a union worker gets in a job with protection, they have a fit if they are asked to change, anything. "NOT IN MY JOB DESCRIPTION" must be tattooed on the back of their hands.

A lot of it probably comes from the fact that there are posts on a bunch of the recent threads along the lines of "was it EWAers, if so, I told you so". We get it, you're in the union and fought and won for your right to not have a layoffs. There is no reason to come on here and gloat about people losing their jobs. It's just in poor taste and creates a negative aura around the union.
There's something we could all agree on - Verizon is going in the wrong the direction and doesn't give a sh-- about it's workforce. We are all just a number in a spreadsheet to upper mgmt.

So you know what? Fuc the union and fuc all its fat slob members angry at the world and hating everyone who is not a member. I had no issue with the union until all of its "entitled" members come on here to tell everyone else they are lesser human beings for not being union.
And they took over this "layoff" site with their pissing and moaning when they were on strike. "oh no, I can't make my Escalade payment now that I have not been paid for two weeks".
