I work with CVX from time to time on onshore and offshore JOA issues. That land department is a clown show and has been for years. Some of these people have been around since the dark ages and have no idea what they are doing or any concept of Ops. DWEP and GOM land are next level garbage.

There are several good land men in GOM who perform at a high level despite their inept overmanaging team leaders.
Not all of them, Tony B in GOM Land was a great asset on projects and good for Chevron. Credit where credit is due. Can't speak for others but he did his job plus.
Just the land are garbage? You need to see the rest of them. The rules apply to everyone else, but not them. Like a petty little school playground.
