Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

FLU SHOTS!

What the hell am I missing? Charging $21 at the office for a flu shot!? We can go to a free clinic, or a retail clinic for $9 or free with insurance. Chevron should expect high absences due to flu this year. This is beyond ridiculous.

I'm sitting I. Room at Walgreens as I write this. Flu shot is free. No co-pay.

-2xzi, many have gone to prison screaming "freedom of speech". Funny how they become silent real fast when they hear the cell door lock behind them. Ponder that while you're on the outside.

The all-seeing eye and hearing ear of the NSA and its little brother, the FBI has got you pegged, 2hxn. While you will claim to jest and make fun on this blog, they already have you on their radar. Best quit while you are ahead, for you may indeed meet the Great Satan and regret it. Don't F with the USA.

The flu shot is a complete waste of time. There are over 200 strains of flu virus. The CDC cannot possibly know or predict which one or two strains will hit us this year or in time to prepare the vaccine in time for flu season. Besides that, the c---tail of chemicals and other unhealthy antivirus ingredients in the vaccine does us more harm than good. Don't be conned into following everyone like herds of mindless sheep going to get the flu shot. Research what the flu shot is and how it's made. You'll understand how ineffective and harmful it really is. The medical and Pharma industry is behind this.

What movie are you telling us about, 2rye?

it will be a civil war in the usa very soon,

no way this planet is going to tolerate this dead-end of humankind, the flow of resources to that troubled place is going to diminish and then stop completely, then it will start

run as soon as possible

but everywhere in all countries you will get hatred and repatriated

those who will stay will eat each other

it will be inferno materialized in the most terrible way

long terrible inferno for more than five years

that is the way to depopulate this planet by almost 300 mln (as your masters always try to do with other nations) but now they cannot do it anymore to others, then they will come to you, because they need constant flow of blood to "live' ( in fact, to live their zombie lives), and they have nothing but to put their teeth to your veins

I get the flu shot every year, and have not had the flu in many years...seems a worth while investment to me even if some years it is only %25 effective. Still, the shot a small price to pay in prevention (I was happy to pay the $21 for the ease of getting that taken care of at work). I was surprised Chevron cut the payment for the shot, given the more protected the force the less likely for a loss due to people out sick... but some bean counter make that call. Why give a $750 bonus for health prevention activities, rather that low hanging fruit like a flu shot is beyond me, but then I am not a manager.

I think flu shots are unnecessary. It seems like they push it more and more nowadays, bringing flu clinics to work, school, and stores. I have never had a flu shot in my life and have done fine.

Last year my flu shot at Walgreens was free. I guess I had met my deductible.

It's not a flu shot; they are implanting a chip. Later on they will track how many times you use the restroom. hehehe.

At Walgreens Flu shots are $31 which I happily paid after It was free for me during my 31 years at work. Retiree Health insurance is another issue...Now my retiree deductible is $1000 and my monthly premium for me is $500+ Just for medical... So active employees only pay $127 for single monthly premium and a $400 deductible for single you only. Correct me anyone if I am wron, deductible for active employees might be $1000 now to. So do whatever you can to work forever!!! NOT! so glad I am retired and don't have to have a boss!!! When it's time for you to go, it will all work out!! But, Chevron said it is because of their lack of earnings as a company. Hopefully, when Checrons earnings turnaround and I think they will, because we are a cyclical industry, my premiums will come down!!! I love you Chevron!!!

nql, don't be obtuse. If Chevron was such an excellent company, they would be subsidizing the cost of the flu shot, not overcharging the price as was just mentioned. The company would do best by staying out of the subject all together. Why do they treat their employees as children who need to be reminded of simple things. Christ!

Quit your whining. You want to go to a clinic, go to a clinic. Quit complaining that your company is providing this convenience to the employees. You are lucky to work for an excellent company like Chevron.

Flu shots, just like taking antibiotics all the time only lowers your resistance to the bug. Later in life when you are older, your immune system is weak and your body cannot naturally fight off anything that attacks it. Let your natural defenses work for you.

Yeah, only get the flu shot if you want to get the flu and miss some work. My resistance is high and I don't get the flu. If you do want a flu shot, you can get one at Walgreens for $10.

OP, Best you not fall for the Flu Shot hoax our government tried to push all the time. Big Pharma is pushing this thing as a flu vaccine, but in reality, it's only a huge experiment and we idiots are the guinea pigs. This vaccine is one of several ways that Big Pharma keeps us sick and promotes illnesses later in life. If they don't have sick people to "cure", the medical and pharmaceutical industry goes bust. Forget about Flu Shots. My wife and I never had one in our 55+ years. We never get sick, are not on any medications and we live very healthy lives. Don't fall for the Flu Sh-- Hoax.
