Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Anyone else notice they are writing team members up for any little thing?

Hours getting cut... team members getting written up left and right for work performance... supervisors getting held accountable for situations occurring on their days off... no support from Team leaders or atls... expecting us to run around like chickens with no heads... team members getting verbals for working and talking to customers for too long. But yet they want excellent customer service? Wholefoods market is trying to get back all their customers, but it's not going to work by shoving more work down our throats, not offering support, and then wondering why it's not getting done. Hey, here's an idea... maybe if store leadership started working instead of just standing there and pointing their finger or talking For hours things would actually be getting done. Ive been with the company for years, I wanted to grow old with the company... now I'm starting to question if that's going to happen.

worked as store artist for 3 years, never had a write up until the past 6 months. quickly realized our new ASTL's favorite pastime was monitoring my time punches. got 2 write ups, both of which she treated like "aww it's no big deal, you just gotta sign this paper here" and fed me false info about how to avoid future write ups. SURE, we all have access to the gig book and go through orientation, but when years go by without a single TL batting an eye at the "rules", they become obsolete. i made sure to clock in on time from that point on, only to be fired for leaving sick WITH permission from my STL.

talk about transparency - i was literally ONE day away from my 3 yr dialogue, and probably one of the highest paid tms in the lowest comping store. such a joke. i was undoubtedly the only person educated in the field i was working in, babysitting the other teams so they can sell their damn products, working ALONE bc my team was sacked, yet im fired for clocking in late? not one person could've been affected by my tardiness - i was coming in every day to an empty office and doing the job of 5 people. no one in the store had the slightest clue of what my job entailed, yet of course they assume they can pick up my work easy-peasy!

kinda glad to know that ASTL will prob have to end her little power trip early. besides getting rid of me, i don't know what value she is to that store & it's failing business

Happened to me after 17 years at WF. 3 b---s--- write ups in 6 months led to my leaving. Of course, after 17 years, my wage, benefits and PTO was maxed so I'm sure that had something to do with it as well. they now could get 2 part timers to pay minimally and not pay any benefits.

The company wants to not pay benefits out...it easy ...you hire at less then 20 and you work them 40..but occasionally you must cycle them back down beneath 20 to trick the government...it works!...save a lot of payroll dollars this way...as for the tms getting screwed?...does anyone really give a f---?... seriously...they are, in the end, low life food service workers who are getting 40 most weeks..they are lucky to have a job let alone 40 hours...they don't deserve benefits...this is the f---ing miserable company you work for...and they push you around.. and f--- your head up...so you end up, sad as it is, thankful...what a job they do on you people...fucn sheep

Oh pa-lease its about time that team members are held accountable. Let's face it, most of the Regional folks would bomb in interviews for their positions if they had to do it. They have to secure their jobs by eliminating team members that threaten their position.

They are trying to rid the corporation (yes don't fool yourself, it is a corporation) of anyone who can get benefits and save the company millions of dollars. All those guys they are hiring at PT now (less than 20) get no options for benefits. What they seem to not care about is the collateral damage they are causing to their brand by doing so. C'est la vie. Luckily it is NOT my life anymore!

The TLs are in the same fire with the rest of you. We're losing our jobs too.

Their bullying us to make themselves look good.

Yet certain TLs are so incompetent I doubt that they could bang 2 rocks together, and they are allowed to bumble around making mistake after mistake with no consequences.

TMs get cut early because of labor one day, then the next day they are getting written up for something they didn't get done.

Meanwhile the TL drops the ball constantly, making mistakes that result in criticals on health inspections, countless lost sales $$s, angry shoppers, sternly worded memos from regional, and so on, yet they are allowed to just shrug and say "my bad" every single time. It's insanity, it's like we're getting written up for not emptying the trash when we got sent home early, and the same TL who wrote us up is like "Oopsie! I started a fire in trash can and cost the store 1000s of dollars!"

There's no such thing as making a mistake now, or forgetting to do something. They're getting anyone for anything. They give you verbals without verbally telling you it's a verbal and next thing you know it you're getting written up. If the company is trying to save money on labor there's different ways to go about it then writing everyone up.

They have also been trained up on pulling tm's in the office and acting like they are interested in helping them get on a team that gives them best opportunity to grow. Then you become a s---er w/o a job.

Or how about your tl writing you up for nothing to get rid of you so they can take your position when teams merge? 8 yes no write ups...2 in 4 months bs.
