I work from home because I deal with people worldwide. Commuting would mean a 5 hours in the car for me.
It's not about working from home just for the hell of working from home. It's about being able to support meetings and different teams spread all across the globe without being in your office 24/7. Without working from home when needed, you don't have that flexibility.
Most people don't work with local teams because the way leadership decided to do business so working with china or India for example will be a big pain in the a-- if you had to be in the office doing it. Most people wouldn't do it. Same for those folks there too...they do it from home because it's not reasonable otherwise.
Leadership needs to get their heads out of their asses and think with their brain for a second.
I think WFH is great. I do not do it but I have (had?) the opportunity for it. I earned a college degree from home and I know there is the stigma of laziness/plagiarism/etc. In my heart I know that I worked my a-- off and I'm sure 99% of all those who WFH do the same. The goofs of a few are causing the pain of many as per usual in life.
Let me guess to first responder, you hold a position that does not permit working from a remote location. Well then shush. You have no idea how that was part of many of our empty promises and benefits of turning down other job offers because this provided more time with out families. Please shut up. Just because you have no idea the impact this change has, keep your dumb comments to yourself.
Why we kept on talking abut WFH? Seems like sitting and working more from home with reduce benefits and possible no job somehow it is a most important thing to discuss? I thought you all smarter than ALT. Stop already
