Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

All the doom and gloomers on the layoff along with the haters, the contrarian in me says Intel will do just fine.

To the majority who don't understand Moore's Law the dynamics of x86, ARM, and foundry they can read circuit and listen to the executives and buy into the smoke and mirrors. Rest assured after watching this industry for more than a quarter century Intel's position is very precarious, never more precarious IMHO, and everyone there should consider their personal situation and future and act for themselves, don't say you didn't see or hear the warning, LOL

Intel was 'fine' in 2000.

What is that saying? "Everything is darkest, right before is goes ..BLACK."

LOL.

Maybe it will "do just fine" after it stops losing business and lays off another 25-30K.

I do not think that the tech industry in this country is fine as a whole. It is all going offshore. Look at Cisco. I expect more cutbacks from all companies next year.

With regards to the stock...

LMAO!

Remember when Nasdaq hit 5000 in the year 2000?

Intel had a 500 billion market cap then.

Look - every company has a life cycle. No one makes money forever. It's the nature of capitalism. It's actually healthy to have new ideas replace old ones.

Guess who's getting replaced in our industry?

The contrarians are the ones who see the grim reality. The consensus is that Intel is "just fine".

Just fine?

If you mean go the way of Kodak and DEC, then I agree.

Intel may end up 'just fine' with all the smoke and mirrors, but they'd be a h3ll of a lot better if they had the backs of the employees. If your employees are happy (not backstabbing and always waiting for the other shoe to fall) then you get a LOT more out of them than whipping it out of them.

So... while 'just fine' may be how this company ends up, they'd be a lot better off if there was trust in management and a decent roadmap.
