34th street has completely fallen apart basically since they closed down the south side of the tracks. That day when Mike Owen's told everyone that there jobs were going away and they better train their Mexican replacement or get fired. Idiots..

Very well said - I remember the pride i had when being hired at Garrett. SADLY today it's trying to hang in while they exploit and degrade us at every turn. Dave Coty, Larry Bossidy, Jack Welch ....All the same and with no remorse or regard for who kep't thier butts able to stay CEO and wealthy.
Sad way to leave a career for many of us as we're forced. I would not recommend Honeywell to ANYONE.
They don't care about the workers. We were the highest profiting plant they had, and they still sent it to Mexico. No workman's comp, no health insurance, no OSHA to keep an eye on them, no pension, no 401K, nothing. Honeywell is making pure profit! We were Union, with ZERO turnover, and still got shut down. The only good thing was NAFTA! 2 years of free school. All classes paid, books paid, everything paid. And still got unemployment the whole time. Changed my career! I warn everyone about Honeywell and the HIGH recall rates from Mexico, not to support them. Hell their own sister companies don't want the crap built in Mexico.

I'm sorry everyone but your fate was set 10 years ago when the decision was made to exploit cheap labor in emerging markets. I don't really care what happens to any of you, our products or even Honeywell as a whole. You all need to recognize this company for what it truly is; a means to make people rich. Honeywell is not about building great products, taking care of customers or obtaining HOS gold. It's sole purpose is to make the investors and by extension, me filthy rich. Listen, if I could get the stock price to $1,000 per share by selling bags of human sh--, that's what Honeywell would sell.
You all are delusional if you think that getting union, or selling stock or even calling out sick on a specific day will affect me or change anything. It won't. The die is cast. You all will be replaced by foreign workers. I don't know how much clearer I can make this?? I would prefer you all quit so I don't have to waste my money paying RIF severance packages but if you won't leave willingly I will be forced to take more extreme measures to entice you all into quitting.
Some of those measures are 4 weeks of furlough next year, large increases in health insurance cost coupled with decreases in coverage, no raises and just making it painful in general for all of you to stay around. I will continue to get rich along with my friend Tim and together we will bleed the company (at your expense) dry. He and I love using the corporate aircraft fleet as our personal sort of "NetJets" where we can fly our family and friends around on your dime while telling you that you all need to make sacrifices! It's great being rich with no conscious at all!! So again, please keep working as hard as you can until we can lay you all off. My standard of living is more important than your lives or your family's lives.
