The larger problem, even after integration they still have the issue with lower power maybe 3 watts so what? Nobody really cares anymore!
All we want are cell phones. We all care far more about next weeks iPhone launch than IDF or a new x86 launch. Intel makes good money for now but not much longer. The issue is x86 is as glamorous as your washing machine. Everyone needs one, more efficient is good but you ain't buying another one till the one you got is broken.
The virtuous cycle has moved to ARm powered cell phones and things and Intel missed the revolution about 8 years ago, waiting to catch it in 2018 is just too late.
Company will pay for the miss with more consolidation and layoffs is all bit certain, have your parchute and life vests
