Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

What's your thoughts about Millenials at Intel?

I attended a Millenial summit earlier this year where the topic was how to get Millenials more involved. Listening the them more, recognizing and supporting their work styles such as embracing social media and collaborative work environments.

Do you think the latest missteps at Intel are due to people listening to Millenials? (Don't get me started about the future CEO who asked a question in BK's open forum)

The millennials I know are steering clear of Intel. I tried to get some in on the referral program but they weren't biting. I wonder how many of the millennials who are in are offspring of Intelians? I sure know interns all seem to be.

In a way, millennials are like any other group - it's got rock stars and...not rock stars. I've worked with millennial rock stars, they're very good. Easily on par with the best in the company.

The rest are honestly entitled and lazy, and have never been told no in their lives. I've seen RCG's that take a week to do an hour's work, and interns that treat work like a school project - hang around the person who does the most then claim credit at the end (to be fair, they're fitting in quite well as potential management). And nearly all of them keep their phone close by whenever they're not on it.

From the focus on replacing experienced people with RCG's to TWWW, it really seems like BK's grand idea is to have people focus on work for 2 hours per day then be distracted or on facebook the other 6. If stock analysts had seen Intel offices 5 years ago and then today they'd rate us a strong sell.

'Leadership conference 2015' held in Folsom was fully focused on including these dumbazz millennials. Intel has totally LOST all direction.

Millennials at Intel or Millennials anywhere? Where they are doesn't matter. Not sure the answer is any different.

"Future CEO", OP 😄😂...

I don't think anyone at Intel is listening to the arrogant, ignorant, naive , inexperienced millennials.

I agree with @pgk

No, I think the missteps are from non-technical BOD and a CEO that's in way over his head. As far as millennials and workshops etc - at Intel all decisions are made by baby boomers period. They listen to nobody.
