My formula to survive 14 or more workforce reductions phases (besides hard dedicated work because that does not really help) was to make sure I was better positioned politically within my groups than 1 or 2 colleagues. Too bad in 2015 I was moved to a new group with everybody in a different site besides me and I did not follow through enough with this advice. So the moral of the story for all of you still in Intel is do whatever it takes to make sure you are better positioned with your manager than at least 1 of your peers and you will continue surviving.

As long as it is management (GMs, Directors, People managers) laid off !!!
They are the ones that do no work, know little to nothing and are lost when they have NO RESOURCES to assign work to.
If management don't know how to perform that work, they should not be the ones leading management. It is not good enough if they can not help their teams resolve problems as leaders that they are supposed to be. Telling the team to resolve the pending problem among yourselves is admission that the manager is clueless and should not be leading any team.
Something is wrong at Intel because their management thinks their job is delegating and creating more stress and more work for their delegates.
