Walmart has made a practice of laying off tenured associates for cheaper, less skilled contract labor at the home office. It no longer is a family and respect for the individual is only catch phrase. A career is no longer possible with this company. The day will come when your number comes up.

^^^ This was on my team. Neglected to add that.
I work in the HO and 2 people were RIFd and one retired in the past year. The 2 people RIFd both had high medical costs. That seems to be the trend with companies. Of course they won't be replaced and the rest pick up their workload.
