Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Everyone else is laying off then hiring a cheaper grad workforce

http://www.ae.gatech.edu/event/aerospace-engineering-career-fair

Such BS. They spew this story about how everyone's in the industry is laying off to somehow justify why they are forced to layoff an do furloughs. They are just laying off to get free and cheap labor. Good luck with the generation that thinks they deserve and entitled to things rather than prove themselves.

By the way, I'm the original poster and I'm barely 4 years outside the millennial generation. I can tell you the millennial generation cannot come close to the dedicated and hard work I've seen my peers and those that have been around since before I was born. I'm sorry but you don't compare, I was trained by some of the best people who are 20-30 years older than me and they have more hard work in their pinky finger than a millennial has in their entire existence. I could probably be considered a millennial, but I refuse to associate as one. Ive watched these new people hired on that we're born when I was in elementary school and I am shocked how lazy they are. There is no ingenuity and no drive. Sorry but I have yet to meet one that is equivalent

Screwed over??? Honeywell is not the only game in town. Employers hate to hire hardworking people with experience. BTW I am not being affected by the RIF and if you only knew what my pride got me. Match my financial portfolio with you any day of the week, just need a few more years.

I guess you don't see that if you don't carry your weight, how much burden it puts on everyone else. Just keep on playing on your phone and taking long lunches.

Well look where your pride got you. The people of your generation are screwing you over. Keep blaming young people for your misfortunes.

Are you kidding!!! LoL.. these comments exemplify what I am talking about. What about taking pride in what you do? "Handed to you from the generation before"... what does that even mean? I'm going to blame someone else for me being a lazy SOB? There is more to life than a job and money, but wait until your family is counting on you and the mortgage is due, oh that's right you still live with mommy and daddy or your buddies and have zero life experience.

The hate on millenials is unbelievable. We all work for money. Entitled or not. A lot of us are just happy to have a job at all. If anyone does the bare minimum its because that's what we got handed to us from the generation before. There is more to life than jobs and money.

I haven't seen any "Fresh outs" slave away at anything, just do the bare minimum. The same job.... I don't think so. Every generation thinks they are soooo much smarter than everyone that came before them. If any of these grads stick around until someone actually trust them with a "real" project they will be singing a different tune.

Yes, they are so "entitled" they are willing to slave away doing your same job while getting 1/3 of what the company paid you. Not only that, but that 1/3 they get paid is already half gone paying back the US government for the student loans which were necessary to pay for the skyrocketing cost of their college education.

Sounds SUPER entitled.....

The definition of a Reduction in Force (RIF) is that there are positions that no longer exist. That doesn't mean that there are other positions or business needs that don't need to be met.
