Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

For good or bad.....

Today was probably the last full Tuesday some of us will work at Honeywell. The 13th is one week away, more than likely this will be the start of the RIF. All will watch some will walk. Go or stay we all will say good by to our coworkers and our friends. So as the days wind down no sense in grumbling now because it is inevitable. So best of luck to all and hope all works out for what ever side of the RIF you are on.

One of my cohorts self nominated. He planned to leave at years end regardless. Just watch them turn down his request, and then refuse to let use replace him if he is forced to quit. Win-Win for good old Honeywell I'd say!!

How come you never hear of any directors or above getting cut ?

Cote should just do now, take the ALT with him and get off this fecking stupid march to become a software company

It won't get better, it will get worse and worse. This isn't a temporary condition at honeyhell. Dave and his "leaders" have failed. They took a great company and ran it into the ground through their own incompetence.

I think when furloughs were first used as a "cost-savings" method, it was a difficult decision to make. But as years past and more furloughs took place, it has become increasingly easier for Leadership (and I use THAT term loosely) to use that as a go-to rather than a last-resort. Leadership has miserably failed the employees. Unrealistic goals/targets are pressed on everyone every day. And I wish I could say it will get better, but alas...

Very true. The layoff will be bad for everyone. Those that stay will be beaten more severely for not meeting goals without peers to help.

This was one of the posts that reminded me of how great my coworkers at Honeywell are (except for the first response - dude, you might want to grow up a little, or lay off the bottle before you post again). It's so unfortunate that the good ones are not appreciated by the company to their full worth. The ship is sinking... but I wish everyone the best of luck and hope seas remain calm for the remaining on the ship, and rescue boats arrive soon for those set afloat. Reach out to everyone you've worked with in the past (via linkedin or whatever) and network as a family, regardless of what our patriarch did to us.

Which ever twist Management puts on these furloughs and layoffs, RIFs - it is still a management FAILURE and they should all be ashamed. I could care less if they sugar coat the darn thing, it is STILL a management failure! A grandeur failure! They should all be in Block 9 of their stupid 9-block HPD system!!!
