Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

MyWork Transition and Available Space......

As the bank continues to lay folks off in small amounts, it appears that there are a lot more available workspace becoming available in Uptown Charlotte. So what will this mean for those still in the MyWork Program in the Charlotte & surrounding area? Does this mean that those on MyWork should be worried once again about coming back into an office environment full time? I've heard of no space is available for months now BUT that is all BS because I have seen plenty of unoccupied cubes in Gateway Village and Gateway Center for months now in which I know a whole lot of folks that are still in the MyWork space on my team that were never transitioned back when I was earlier this year.

The My Work program is not being utilized on an equitable basis. It has become a program used by "special" employees only. There are too many "unwritten" rules that apply to certain groups at the bank. It has created a culture of divisiveness and bitterness. To the BofA management and HR folks who actually read these boards there is dissension in the ranks! Please come out with a written policy that applies to all groups and all employees at the bank! You can't continue to show favoritism to a select few! Or perhaps you can - and perhaps that is exactly what you want to do - to force people to leave. It's a disgusting approach in my opinion. Just lay people off and pay them the severance they deserve. Here's an idea: ask folks if they are interested in a package! I bet you would get many takers!

The culture has become very toxic, and it's obvious that management wants employees to quit. They ended MyWork and brought back many into the office; the cubes are barely enough space for 1 person, but more than enough for 1 computer. These working conditions are horrible.

I'm betting a lot of space will free up once third quarter layoffs happen. If you were more than 33-35 miles away or an hour in traffic (that's not exact, can't remember specifics) then you were allowed to continue to work from home. Quite honestly, this company brags about being innovative but then completely scaled back on the one thing that helped us gain that title and one of the only things that attracted and kept talent. This company has become such a disappointment in so many ways. It's sad.
