I got a meeting notice for tomorrow. ABQ is going to be even more empty than it already is. It's like a ghost town here. I've never been laid off before in all my years. Now what?

Guys, tomorrow is going to sck, we can't get around this, good practice every 6 months is to update your résumé, compare your skills set to others, raise the bar for yourself and create a LinkedIn account, expand your network, the rainy day is coming whether it is tomorrow or some other day so make sure you have your umbrella, I wish you all the best of luck because again tomorrow is going to sck
I also have a 1 on 1 tomorrow morning at 8. Not sure if I'm going to be shown the door with a box of all my goods. Honeywell Sky Harbor
There is always a light brighter out there. Be strong heads up in the meeting. You do not need to sign anything, if you dont want to. Tell them you need to consult with your lawyer and will get back to them and to mail the info to you since you are in duress.
You are stronger than them, and be rest assured there are jobs out there. I allways said when you are at the lowest point there is no where to go but higher and believe me ( gone through this s..t 5 times) you will be above them idiots at the end and will be happier.
Head up chin up face the idiots from point of power so they chase you.
Call a labour lawyer as well to be educated on your rights. Take all HPD and HR files with you inadvane of tomorrow.
You are better than them, never forget it!
My friend got a meeting notice, too. It will be 1:1 meeting with our boss. He is being told that meeting is about problems we are facing at work on daily basis and that all employees from our group will have similar meeting.
I just got a meeting notice for tom morning as well. - phx engines
Wonderful that people hear that really is life after Honeysmell.
Check if everyone is getting meeting notices. In some past RIFs there have been meetings for everyone. Some get told they're ok and get back to work, others get a pink slip and shown out the other door.
To the OP, sorry to hear about your misfortune. I was also RIFed last January, and let me tell you, it was a blessing in disguise. I agree with JlMdux6-tsb that getting laid off was the best thing that's ever happened to me as I ended up with a job with a higher pay and better benefits. Plus, my high blood pressure dramatically went down after getting laid off! Surely, I miss the people that I've worked with, but you'll find other people enjoyable to work with in your next job.
Stay positive, get yourself busy with personal projects and working on your resume. At the end of the day, it's just work.
God bless, stay strong
Thank you.
Wow. It's just stunning. Sorry for the news. Take a deep breath. Many people look back and say it was the best thing ever to happen. Be prepared, network and have a well prepared resume. Do linked in. Be proactive and you might be quickly surprised about getting a better job. Once you have that job there will be plenty of time to reflect on the decline and fall of Honeywell aero jobs. Sorry you are going through this. Think silver linings.
