I have been invited to a half hour meeting tomorrow afternoon at the Tempe site.

Box your stuff up and start walking it out ahead of time. I brought my laptop, company cell phone, and cut-up company credit card to the meeting, so I didn't have to walk back to my desk. It felt good to just be able to walk out!
Just make sure you work REEALLY hard before the meeting
If you volunteered, the 1 on 1 could be to tell you that you got it, or didn't get it. If you didn't volunteer, then it's good bye charlie!
I was invited for 1 on 1 with HR, but only to be told that my I was rejected, after volunteering.
Those who were accepted were just told to pack their things...
If you work remotely they have to invite you in to let you go.
Sorry to hear this, but use the opportunity to find yourself a career with a great company that will be around for a while. Trust me, the folks who remain at Honeywell at the end of the week are the real losers in this situation.
Why would they schedule a meeting ahead of time to lay you off? In the past they would just come and get you.

It is supposed to be very uncomfortable having to be led back to your desk, in front of your coworkers, to collect you personal irems.
Who is supposed to be ashamed???
Bring all your personal items and company property with you to save yourself the walk of shame
