As a 25yr plus employe in service & not knowing or having retail experience I can tell u this.our store is same way in my area there are more & more empty spots every time u go& the rent is very high $. So I would say the writing is on the wall.just use comin since, sad thing is,u cannot teach it&owner or largest share holder of company does not have it along with most of company's management .so if your job is done away with then they did u a favor because mr lam**** should not own a company until he learns how 2 take care of its staff, instead of keep hiring people 2 come in & figure out what's wrong almost yearly(because employees are not told important things, till thy usually find out from customers or friends)& they end up giving some fancy speech that comes down 2 take care of the customers !hum who does that!

This person is "doing their job" by being concerned about all of the empty shelves. After all, if there are few items to be able to buy, there will be fewer customers and the store that they work out would then at some point end up closing!

Moody's downgraded Sears yesterday, so I suspect the amount of out-of-stocks is going to increase!

They were very clear about several division 20 items at Sears being discontinued and new items coming in as replacements. It's been all over Pebble and in the Sales today Seltember issue. Countertop microwaves and vacuums are all coming out with newer models in the next few months and both are division 20 at Sears.

I don't know about the other division numbers.

At Sears division 6 is sporting goods, 9 is hardware, 20 is floor care. At my store so many pegs and shelves are empty we are constantly bring asked if this store closing too,but we are still open. Division 71,lawn and garden is like a ghost town of items no weedwackers,no stick too!s,no mowers in stock, but we just got in tons of Christmas Decorations, of course there are no staff to set it up.

Guys, the dept/div numbers are different for Sears and Kmart, so you need to be clear which store you are talking about.

E will come up for discontinued items too. Perhaps they are being replaced by new KSNs?

Ok, even though I left SHC. My only thought could be is in those three departments 6,9,20 if these are Kmart departments. That the vendor has ceased shipping products to the DC due to the possibility of SHC filing chapter 11. End of season like you guys said does not make sense? Do you guys think that the vendors quit shipping and the DCs are out of product?

That is too weird. The only things I see that should be out-of-season would be the swimming pools, summer toys and accessories in Div 4 and Div 80/89; the Barbeque Grills, Patio Furniture in Div 28, Possibly some stuff in lawn & garden in div 43 like the pots, leftover 4th of july in Div 9. What in the world is happening in Hoffman Estates???
