Precisely, 4uvg. It's a hell hole. On the other hand, I enjoy curried dishes as much as the next person, but I can get that here in Houston. God knows the flood gates have been wide open for too long where parts of Houston is inundated by these ruby heads.

I have travelled to that region in South Asia and it is not as bad as some posts suggest. Most people are nice and friendly. Unique cuisine and culture. The security situation is dicy, however. There is established presence of Islamist terrorists there and that coupled with level of corruption in government, police, etc makes it a dangerous place for any western citizens and their families.
The only people who told you they loved it there was for one reason only, the 75% expat pay premium. Who wouldn't like that? Other than that, it's a hell hole. Look at the dregs from that country who make it to our shores. Like Hillary defines some people - A basket of deplorables.
Everyone I know who worked there loved it. Great asset, fantastic people, interesting food and culture, etc. we are still investing. Will not be sold.

It doesn't surprise me that Bangladesh is a hell hole of a place to live or work. I have a Bangladeshi neighbor with a Culcuta mentality. What a pest. He sure can be a nuisance sometimes.
I have rotated 3 times through Bangladesh. Think of of the worst run business you know and then magnify it by infinity, and then you have Bangladesh. It is actually quite remarkable we can be this bad!

The expat premium in Bangla Desh is 75%. Expensive to operate anything there.
