Said another way he could end up collateral damage to MH and his gang from HP.
No one is blaming JF. The problem is MH and his posse coming to town. It's how they will execute which will be ugly for legacy Oracle people. Sadly. T
Why JF? Systems sales are down due to direct Oracle management decision to shrink the business. They only care about high margin Engineered Systems. No customer will buy an X86 that cost 2x the price of a competitor and you get crappy service from Oracle. Oracle is wrong to be in the HW business, they just don't know; there are better, cheaper alternative out there. Stop blaming Fowler, a lot of us don't even work for him.
Possibly though he's survived at least a year

But now DD is taking over cloud and hardware. Smells like a reorg. And then it might make it more obvious there are not enough seats at the table for JF.
Bet he's gone soon and replaced by DD.
Not to mention they discount how hated oracles tactics have been but now there are options! Businesses don't have the luxury to stay in bed with unethical cut throat companies. Businesses are in to succeed and need collaboration to get there. It's why I bet on Microsoft and Amazon to pull customers out of oracles control. Another reason why oracle on-premise will see declines.
The strategy is flawed as they know it. Larry is outdated and should hang it up for good. Focus on the ladies and getting more plastic surgery. The best thing they can do is begin to divest non core areas and get acquired by a large tech player say the 100billion companies that know how to drive technological shifts. It's not necessarily a bad strategy it's flawed because they are discounting the competition way too much. Hurd thinks oracle will be one of the last players in cloud by 2025. That's funny. Ask the people at HP how much he did to help their business.
Small potatoes compared to sales by TK, Hurd and Catz - no faith in the cloud strategy there
Well - A good insurance
he gets the money before any axe comes down on him
Good for him. Wouldn't you do the same?
