Treat this company as a training ground. I remembered a NYSE listed company - all their major competitors formed by laid-off employee.
I don't think there's a tech company in the world where you're guaranteed to be able to ride out the rest of your career, so instead of living in fear of the next LR, make them work for you. Keep your skills and your resume up to date, and focus on building a strong network. That way, if you do get caught up in an LR, you can find a new job quickly, and with your severance, walk away with a little extra money in your pocket.
