"Why the hell do I have to pay people to leave" BK after hearing how much money it was costing for the packages for people in ACT.

Well lets ask the question - "Why does management have to receive such outlandish pay and severance packages? Just look at what BK and his staff get in salaries and potenail layoff packages (they get in millions of $$).

IMHO, the stock holders are getting taken for a ride by Intel. Always hiding something or the other with lots of FUD.

Just openly challenge your manager's decisions at every public event you can. He'll say you are not a team player and give you your walking papers.

the only package BK is handing out these days is the one in his pants.

Best package is to have a new and better job and leave before Intel kicks you to the curb. Looking for a job even with a "package" is still stressful.

A bird in the hand and a middle finger to your past employer as you leave is better than any separation package as they take your badge, computer and walk you with 5' to pack your cube after a lasy minute 1:1 shows up on your outlook calendar 😆 IMHO!

When ACT2 and ACT3 come in 2017 and 2018 you'll be happy you didn't wait for the 'ACT' package 😉

I agree with BK. Those people who received packages still bad mouth Intel and are still threatening to sue. I see very little benefit for Intel to offer any severance packages.

I suspect ACT2 and ACT3 BK won't feel so generous as things will be much more dire in 2017 and 2018!

Stick around 'till Q1'17, there will be more layoffs but don't know how good the packages will be.

If you are a white and over 50 then it will happen without trying too hard. If you are URM, sorry, your not getting a package offer. If you are neither, then just stop talking to your manager and distance yourself from them. One other risky move is to take a job in a new group - they always ding the new person on their first focal. And of course don't forget the time honored way to receive a lower ranking at focal which is to take sabbatical or medical leave.
