I overheard someone expressing concern over this last week. Can't a man catch a break around here?

Hopefully, soon, real soon. At minimum, the employees will suffer the agony of worrying about next event and will be totally useless, thereby making their exits justified. Lol.
A man? did you say your a "man" and you are still here; we'll get you next round. Like we need any men around here, next he will be saying he is white and over fifty. Must be a joke.
To make you OR feel worse: I know of 3 GBs who replaced ISP/VSP folks who have been able to purchase homes in Hillsboro area recently.
@rdg- you lying trolling son a beach
I seriously doubt you are telling the truth @rdg. They don't give anywhere near that much notice,
Best package is to have a new and better job and leave before Intel kicks you to the curb. Looking for a job even with a "package" is still stressful.
A bird in the hand and a middle finger to your past employer as you leave is better than any separation package as they take your badge, computer and walk you with 5' to pack your cube after a lasy minute 1:1 shows up on your outlook calendar 😆 IMHO!
When ACT2 and ACT3 come in 2017 and 2018 you'll be happy you didn't wait for the 'ACT' package 😉
@rdg - Which department? Or are you just trolling?
I got an out-of-sync 1:1 with my manager and an HR person for this Thursday with an official booked conference room! Damn, time to clean up my PC!
The only way for you to be safe or successful in Intel is if you are Indian or a Muslim. They need you to show the world how diversified they are.
Not until the last person out turns out the lights.
Layoffs will be a fact of life at Intel from this point forward, I don't think it will stop for a long, long time.
Re: I've heard 2016 people offered VSP who did not take it are "eligible" for ISP
ERP here (THANKFULLY). I too heard this numerous times between 4/25 - 6/24. I'm sure I'd still be hearing it if I was still there. I bellieve it.
BK already said that Intel "always" had performance management and so what's the problem? Get one stock level 4 or 5 I will fire you to protect my job!
Now I expect no more PIP for IR or L4 or L5 stock! That will be another 3-7% shown the door. Focal rank and rating will be long and painful regardless of all the talk of simplifying it. Managers will be held to distribution and there will be a lot of yelling and team building in Q1 as they determine who walks the plank among them.
Sadly that won't be enough as once the x86 inventory pipeline is refilled we'll see x86 volume plummet and the cost of 10nm and other initiatives will explode the costs. BK will have to cut more to prop the stock up, ACT2 and ACT3 are coming in 2017 and 2018
If you are talking about "major announcements" as far as numbers over and above the 12K, I'm sure this is secret, but the plan does exist. Just to stay on trend, since last two layoffs were correlated and "justified" at Focal, the same will probably be true next year. I bet there are people targeted for those layoffs no matter what their performance has been. I've heard 2016 people offered VSP who did not take it are "eligible" for ISP, but I don't have definitive proof, just loose discussions among the mangy managers.
2017 Focal will be a very stressful time at Intel
It was shard already i the QA that they continue to trim organiations and locations.
In 2017 and 2018 there will be ACT2 and ACT3 to readjust to failed foundry,IoT, modems, memory and continued softness in x86 demand. The full impact of 10nm and 7nm will result in more actions a third and fourth round int 2018 and 2019
Ok Lisa
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
People who ask the obvious, must be the FIRST 😐😔😞 LAID off.
Layoffs are ongoing.
Expect them to continue till 2020
