Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

10 years and done.

Was suggested to"" look for another job" last month after 10 years working with the company. I want to love them but it's hard when you are so easily dispensable. I'm not sure what's next to come.

I was one of the fortunate folks who got laid off last year with the severance package. In our state, I could even collect unemployment right away!

While you won't have this cushion, you will still have the life-affirming experience of relief. Believe me, your life after "the hole" is so much better!

There are jobs, you just need to get your confidence back. WFM does such a job on your head! Get your resume up to date and get out if there- now! GET OUT NOW!

It gets worse knowing that I have 400 granted options that are now worthless and will expire before WF ever increases it's stock value. Again, not even a thank you or option to go part time. 15 years and done!

I feel for you----I had 15 years with Whole Foods---worked my way up ---only to get the pink slip---Truth is though, I'd been looking to leave the company anyway as I saw the writing on the wall and didn't like the abuses, drama, and increasing hypocrisy. Still, it felt like a punch in the gut. Just know there are better companies out there----get your resume polished up----One thing about working at WFM is that we have better skills than most other retail workers since WFM demanded so much out of us----Those skills will be appreciated by your new employer and will also serve you well if you decide to have your own business. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors!

" we thank you for your service, but it's no longer needed..". They don't like keeping people with hours on the books, experience, and working at a higher wage.
