Yeah, I know a couple of principal engineers that were ISPed in TMG. Word is there are more layoffs coming for managers, too.
Two principals gone in my area. They were the most competent people I ever met, and left disgusted. Even before they left, they have been asked if they could consider working as contractors ... I would never do that, not even for 300/hour
It is coming. There is no product or yield. No reason to keep so many unnecessary people.

Good, I'm working with good engineers and flm under very medium SLM. It seems that everything you need to be an Intel manager is to talk in a very impressive way and do Intel's courses for managers. Actual work is for dummies.

My job is definite. Also, being a chosen retainer, I doubt being ISPed. However, I may still consider outside opportunities offering me 40% raise, better job title and other perks.
Last year, my manager told me I need to wait for promotion at next Focal as well. Next year came and I got ISP.

There was no need for Murthy to promote him to SENIOR VP so soon after the VP promotion.

Meanwhile my manager says I can not be promoted until a FOCAL time which will be a year's wait .... I must continue to kill myself doing multiple jobs till focal time for less pay. That's a year of lost money.

What difference does it make being a Senior VP when a person is already VP ?
At some point Wall Street will start asking for real results, not quarterly bluffs. This is inevitable.
There was talk of about 20-30 PEs ISP'd this round in PEG alone.
VPs and fellows did "decide" to leave the company around ACT time. But these were not announced as ACT actions. So wasn't my grade 7 teamate, though everybody figured that out...
Hey PEs get L4 stock to.. as do VPs, they "retire" But I am sure ACT2 and ACT3 will see many senior go as well many RCGs to SLM too. Get your lifejackets ready as it will be ugly!
