BS, URM were also laid off. In my former group there is basically no URM left.

It is still a lousy reason and ridiculous to blind themselves to enforce URM through out the company. Withdrawing the ad with apology was all that was required. This is not the reason for URM, OP
True. it's too bad Gamergate was taken over by a bunch of SJW's who morphed it into some anti-female patriarchy nonsense that it never was really about.
If you don't know, Gamergate was originally about the lack of truth in gaming journalism, among both men and women. For decades it's been pay-to-play for reviewing games. Gamergate was a groundswell against the system. Then the SJW's showed up with no clue about what was going on, transformed it into their messed up worldview, and happened to shout louder than everybody else so that the media paid attention to only them. It also helped that the media hates "gamers" and regards them all as sεxist, violent anarchists (despite nearly all studies showing otherwise).
The whole thing was disgusting, and then Intel bowed down to the SJW's and took it a step further.
