Store Graphic Artist

So we just found out in NorCal that we are now called SGA's or Store Graohic Artists. I was wondering if any other region found this out as well since its supposed to be a global position now and if your job has changed from what it was before?

It has been this way in SoPac for quite some time. Many departments are tasked with making their own signs. SGAs download from the Marketing server any store signage that falls outside AV signs or another way, signs that are department specific. Bakery Pastry Case signs, hot bar signs, Meat Case signs, etc. are the responsibility of the individual signs. Local Profiles, Flyers, End Cap or Off Shelf signs are merely edited by SGAs, printed, cut and laminated by SGAs. I think like many other teams, there are areas where we can cut as a company, like chalk, it can more easily be done by someone at Regional Marketing and the SGAs would use vinyl or some other material that requires minimal cost and time. It's clear that we need to look at where we can be more efficient to survive as a company. Having spent the last 15 years of my life as a WFM TM, I've experienced both the economic highs and the lows, twice now during that timeframe. In 2008-2009, as a TL we were asked to cut FT TMs to 32-25 hours. I didn't think many of my TMs could survive on hours like that, so we knew we had to increase sales and make every effort not to have any OT. At that point, there were days I had to ask who wanted to go home early and I, more often that not had volunteers that would be okay to leave early. We laid off many positions during that time frame and sadly we've been basically forced into the same now.
